Vasa The home assistant vase

Vasa: the home assistant vase
The goal of the project was to add a home assistant to an existing living room object for a young couple.
After the first round of user testing, I chose for a vase that made people more aware of their privacy.
The vase is built out of 3 different parts:
- The bottom made as a flexible 3D-print
- The electronics
- The shell with a waterproof interior vase
The vase was programmed in a way that the color told the owners more about the water level.
This functions as a visual aid in caring for the plant.
Explanation of the color codes:
Orange means too little water, purple means the top is opened and blue means perfect water level.
Turning it on happens by rotating the bottom down. This gives the user a real feel for when the internet
is listening in on their conversations. User testing indicated that privacy is an issue a lot of young people
think about.
Final user testing with the working prototype gave great results.
